Markwell Foods

Markwell were moving their office out of an industrial area to Ascot Ave with the aim of creating a head office to reflect their growth in becoming the frozen food partner of choice for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

The brief was to make a little money go along way without looking cheap, the space chosen was being vacated by Philip Morris so there was an opportunity to maximise the possible reuse of the existing fitout whilst still transforming the space to be Markwell’s new home. The office comprises a collaborative front of house rather than a traditional reception – where they can meet visitors without having to go into the office space. This space has a great view and light floods in creating a surprise as you enter the space. There is a test kitchen with cladding that evokes the idea of a shipping container as a subtle nod to what they do. The hub of the space is a large staff collaboration and lunch area – opening up to the boardroom for maximum flexibility. The overall effect of the space is light and bright with lots of natural finishes and plants to create a relaxed and timeless office.
