Three Lamps Plaza

Three Lamps Plaza began its life as the ‘Britannia Theatre’, and was later converted into a retail tenancy arcade. The new owner wanted to update its tired image and improve building efficiencies to increase the value of the property. The objective was to attract new retailers into the untenanted spaces, to retain existing retail tenants and create an incentive to extend their lease agreements. This meant repositioning the building as a desirable location, by upgrading and modernising the interior, exterior and both the individual shops and shared spaces such as toilet facilities. All without losing the historical building’s character appeal.

Platform Consulting Group worked collaboratively with the new owner to enhance the space for both retailers and consumers. A sensitive approach was taken to ensure changes would not take away from the building’s historical character. We offered practical, cost-effective solutions for refreshing the once gloomy arcade with new flooring, colour, decorative features and lighting. The upgrade has resulted in greater consumer activity to support the existing retail tenancies – who have extended their lease agreements – as well as attracting a number of new tenants. It has also significantly enhanced the 1200sqm property’s value, and contributed to Three Lamps as a destination once more.
